What Revenue Automation is
Revenue Automation is Campfire's revenue recognition product. It handles every billing model modern SaaS companies use — subscription, usage-based, tiered, hybrid, platform fees, multi-element arrangements — and recognizes revenue automatically, with ASC 606 compliance and contract-level audit trails out of the box.
This is the revenue recognition QuickBooks can't do at all and NetSuite charges $100K+ to add as a module. In Campfire, it's included.
Accountants choose or eliminate ERPs based on rev rec alone. Campfire's actually works.
What it automates
Revenue schedules — Campfire reads contract data from your CRM (Salesforce, HubSpot) and generates recognition schedules automatically. New contracts are picked up immediately. Amendments, upgrades, and cancellations are handled without manual intervention.
Deferred revenue — Deferred revenue balances track automatically by customer and contract. The roll-forward is always current and audit-ready — no spreadsheet to maintain.
Contract modifications — When a customer upgrades mid-term, downgrades, or cancels, Campfire applies the correct ASC 606 treatment automatically, including retroactive adjustments.
Multi-element arrangements — For contracts with multiple performance obligations (SaaS + implementation + support), Campfire allocates the transaction price across each obligation based on standalone selling prices you define.
Usage-based revenue — Consumption billing integrates with your billing systems. Variable consideration is estimated and recognized per your configuration.
SaaS metrics — ARR, churn, net revenue retention, expansion, and CAC payback are tracked natively in real time — not built in a spreadsheet alongside the GL.

ASC 606 compliance
Full ASC 606 compliance with disclosure automation. Contract-level audit trails for every recognized dollar — traceable from the source contract through the journal entry in the GL. Auditors get contract-level detail and calculation support without your team reconstructing anything.
What you configure
You define the standalone selling price (SSP) for each product or service tier, and how variable consideration is estimated. Campfire handles everything else — schedules, entries, roll-forwards, and audit documentation.
Why this matters
Before Campfire, most finance teams at SaaS companies were running revenue recognition in spreadsheets or in a disconnected module that required manual updates every time a contract changed. That's a material weakness, an audit risk, and a close-time killer.
Campfire eliminates all of it. Revenue recognition runs automatically, stays current, and is audit-ready at any moment.
